I've never really thought of the state prison as being right in Draper. I suppose it might be, but if it is, I can assure you that nobody is Draper seems to be very concerned by it. Draper is, overall, an extremely nice area, much of it being downright ritzy. Up on the east benches of Draper, the views are magnificent. It's safe, clean and very nice. It would be a bit longer commute into downtown Salt Lake than some other areas, but probably not over about 45 minutes, depending on the traffic.

Interesting comment ....
So lets think about that.

Because the State Prison is there,
Draper might be full of criminals ...
Assume there is a State Mental Hospital there ...
Would everybody there be a nut cake ????

It is not full of criminals. It was recently rated 2nd richest city in Utah, so it's definitely nothing like that. I agree with above poster, just because they randomly assigned a prison to a then undeveloped part of the valley doesn't mean it's dangerous now.

Seriously, it was a completely reasonable question.

Most of Draper, and it is large, is east of I-15. The prison is west of I-15 and I thought it was in Bluffdale.

I live in historic Draper, (Sandy annexed the land when it was developed) and it can take me half an hour to get to the other side of Draper. It is a great town. Most apartments are near the freeway, so easy access to most shopping etc.
