I am considering buying a condo in taylorsville located around 4200S and 1600W. Can anyone tell me anything about this area. The condo and the complex are beautiful and it's tucked away far enough from Redwood road that noise isn't a problem. But I don't know if that is considered a bad area of Taylorsville crime wise or other. Any info would be appreciated.

The redwood road area of West Valley is considered a bad area. You are talking about an area just a couple of miles south. So it could also be considered a bad area, but I’m not too familiar with housing there.

IMO, the further west & south you go, the better. LOL I've only been here for 7 mos, & have been 'spoiled' by our wonderful way west West Jordan neighborhood. Very quiet, very kid friendly, & adult friendly & 'away' from the city. I wouldn't live anywhere else in the valley. But that is me. It's all in what you're used to or want. I want to be in the 'country', but close to the city. We're about 10 mins from Jordan Landing. & I can get to downtown in 20 mins. I take the way back roads to get there. Most would hate living 'out' where I do, but I love it. Good luck! Do you have any kiddos? Oh, & BTW, I am not LDS/Mormon.

You live close to me, although I'm a bit farther north. I'm with you. I can be in downtown SLC in 20 minutes, but we have the country feel.

I live near there and I think it's an okay area....there are nicer, but there are also worse areas. There's a Smith's grocery store on 4100 and Redwood. It's really gone downhill in the past few years so I avoid it. The further south you go on Redwood, the better the shopping and restaurants. Your condo coordinates sound like Meadowbrook or Barrington Park. I looked at Barrington Park years ago but they didn't have fenced back yards and that wouldn't work with a dog. Is your job near there, are you attending college?
