What did I miss? patronizing nearby restaurants? The last restaurant I patronized was Culver's, and believe me that is a "family" restaurant to the core, just that it has some awesome offerings. You'd be right, it's a bit of a drive for me from Herriman, but I really DO need to investigate those areas for restaurants more. There was a French restaurant on Foothill that was an upstairs affair we really enjoyed back in the 90's. But I have to admit we haven't checked out that area much. Our new favorite is the "Steakhouse" at the Little America, decidedly high end and therefore not kid friendly as they have NO child's menu, so I guess they encourage the families to go into the cafe instead. Works for me ;-) But indeed there seems to be a good number of offerings downtown. Little by little I'll have to investigate.

Dcisive,
DH and I went out to dinner the other night to Christopher's downtown. Have you ever been?

There is no children's menu and there was NO CHILDREN there at all when we went. Very, VERY nice place!

My boss just told me about that place the other day. I'll have to look into it.

You should! You won't be disappointed!

I take that back, there was one child, but seeing it was in utero, s/he didn't make much noise

The Tin Angel, which has its own parking across from Pioneer Park is awesome! As is the New Yorker, Market Street Grill, Michelangelo's, Ichiban, Metropolitan, so many I can't name them all. But as Hilgi would say, it's not far at all!

dcisive - you need to be our neighbors – or maybe we need you to be our neighbors. You would fit right in on my dead end street and I can find you six houses to look at nearby. I can even guarantee no screaming children and you'd have your own chair on my front porch for those summer evening cocktails. There's beer in the fridge in the garage; help yourself. Bring your own dogs.

Uh, guys...Could I live on your street, too? Okay, I do have kids, but I promise they are VERY well behaved. They are old enough to be past that really whiny, obnoxious stage. Katz has met them, she can vouch for 'em

Utahroots, you sure do make a compelling argument. A nice breeze, comfortable chair, a good cold one and good company. I'm not sure I could beat that. Might even be worth the drive over just for that some time. We need to hook up

Oh and Market Street Grill is OFF of my list. I've eaten there 2 times (once in the South Jordan and once in the University area) in the last few months and BOTH times it sucked big time. I'm going to explore greener pastures. So far one I like is at the District called Blue Fish Sushi as they have excellent chicken teriyaki and tempura there. MacCools went out of business in the district (bad management or just attitude). Madeline's Steak House is moving over to the old Stuart Anderson's location in Sandy in a few more months That should be interesting. But indeed the more likely good spots will be more in the City. I've got to get out more ;-)
