Check when you get into town. I'm guessing it will be in the Conference Center, but it could possibly be in the Tabernacle. As for the time, I couldn't tell you, but anyone you ask on Temple Square will know.

Also, since you're going to be here on a weekday, if you'd like to see a spectacular view of the city, go to the Church Office Building and ask to go up to the 26th floor observation deck. You can go up anywhere between 9:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M.

Lastly, you wanted some suggestions for good restaurants. What kind of food do you like?

Red Iguana on N. Temple just west of I-15. Need to drive over there. It looks like a dumpy place but the food is fantastic! Every time I've been there only about 1/2 of the customers are Anglo, rest are Hispanic speaking Spanish. More mole sauces than I can remember! They do get crowded so the earlier the better.

Takashi has a nice balance of different with a trendy urban atmosphere. They do standards well and have a great list of special offerings.

Ruth's Diner (up Emigration Canyon -- maybe a half hour's drive from downtown Salt Lake) has already been mentioned. I'll second it, but would strongly suggest that for the ambience, you request outdoor seating.

If you like Italian, I'd suggest Caffe Molise; for pizza, try Settabello; for seafood, Market Street. All are in downtown Salt Lake City.

I second the Red Iguana suggestion or Lone Star Taqueria but that is quite a ways to the South. If you like Middle east food, try Mazza at 15&15th or the 9th&9th location....

Ditto to Mazza on 9th & 9th, Copper Onion, Red Iguana, Molise, or Settebello. Vinto is nice for pizza, too.

Martine is also right downtown and one of my favorites for a nice dinner out.

Avoid the Roof; the cuisine is so dismal that no view can make up for it.
