I don't know if there are volleyball courts nearby, but I might encourage y'all to look at the 15th and 15th area, and a bit north. Anywhere in that whole 84108 ZIP code, especially with all the good brunchy restaurants you can walk to on 1300 South east of 1500 East and the new Emigration Market (Harmon's) about to open up. And, of course, all the good stuff AT 15th and 15th. It's just so walkable over there, and that might be something a couple of New Yorkers might really miss.

Just a thought. Anybody agree or disagree?

Edited to add: I think this map is very cool and a thoughtful project!

I am a bit shocked that the first I read is about GAY areas. Wait, this is not San Francisco and I doubt there is such a huge gay scene that you can draw gay zones in the Salt Lake map. Every city has a gay bar or two.

Correct me if I am wrong please!

Park City does not belong to Salt Lake and had it's own history.

So where are those gang areas they were talking about in the crime topic?

On the contrary, SLC has a high percentage of gay people per capita.

It's not a gay area like Castro or anything, but it is a regional hub for the community. If people who are moving here and want to be near people that won't consider them out of the ordinary those are the places to be.

Park City is on the map because it's physically on the map. A lot of people moving here have questions about it.

The gang areas, again, it's relative because it's not a huge problem anywhere is the large west side block I guess.

Agreed, not much gang or real crime here. =)

As for 'gays', I WANT my kids to see & accept same sex couples as normal. Same w/ polygamy, as long as everyone involved is of legal age & consents. =)

Default Stansbury Park

Hi, can you please add more information regarding Stansbury Park? I've read that the Southern part of the valley is the most conservative part. Stansbury Park looks kind of in a middle of nowhere on the map. Is it a good place to live with a small child? Is it considered to be a nice, safe area that is family friendly? We are considering a move to SLC, and we are not LDS. Thank you.

I don't know a ton about it but its safe and inexpensive, suburban with fewer businesses than the SL Valley.

I live in Stansbury Park. It is located on the very outskirts of Tooele County as you are driving from Salt Lake County. It is a very nice place to raise a child, as we have many young families living here. There are 2 elementary schools and one high school located right in the neighborhood. Jr. High students are bussed to nearby Clarke N Johnson Jr. High located in the Overlake community of Tooele.

Many people that are not LDS live here in Stansbury, but you will still have most neighbors that are. It really doesn't make a difference. It is a close knit community and everyone watches out for each other. It is growing fast and a grocery store just recently went in here in town, too.

Check out these links regarding Stansbury

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask. I LOVE living here!

This is a excellent map. Props to the person that took the time. Is it still fairly accurate?
