Nice. Though the Central City (liberty Park, 9th and 9th, etc.) and South (southern) Salt Lake City areas get no representation.

Well, I for one am glad we thought "outside the box".

We are neither LDS nor conservative - and we love living in our Sandy neighborhood....

And we know gay people who live here as well.

You are simply enforcing stereotypes - all the way around - with this map.

I've got to say that I have kind of mixed feelings about the map. I absolutely detest stereotypes, but people moving into the Salt Lake area who know absolutely nothing about the various neighborhoods could really benefit from knowing which areas they would personally not be happy in -- just because they wouldn't fit. If you're buying, especially, you may find what you think is the perfect home, but if you don't know anything at all about the demographics of the area, you may end up finding yourself in a world of hurt.

One thing that I find unfortunate is that the words "LDS" scare the socks off some people. These people need to get over it or not even bother considering Salt Lake City. You move to any part of Salt Lake City and you're not going to be able to avoid having LDS neighbors. Period.

I'm glad you like Sandy. It's a nice area.

I don't think the map is set in stone, but I think their is some validity to it. Like you, I've met all kinds of people living everywhere though.

This map almost made me weep with happiness. We're a military family who will be moving blindly to SLC this summer and I've been overwhelmed with piecing info together regarding where to live and where we may want to avoid for various reasons. This is SO helpful to give us a starting off point. Thank you!

Talk to us here on city-data, though, because we can add insights not to be found just looking at the map.
