Hi everyone,

Considering a relocation to SLC for a new job.

I realize real estate is going to vary drastically by neighborhood, but I'm looking for a sense of cost/square foot in the area. My job will be in the southern part of the Salt Lake Valley, near Cottonwood Heights.

Ideally, looking for a new(er) home (say, 10 years or newer) in a decent neighborhood with good schools. I'd like to be no more than 30 minutes from work, including traffic.

So again, what is the average cost/square foot of housing? Any help that can be provided is great.

Thanks!

I really wouldn't consider Cottonwood Heights at the southern end of the Salt Lake Valley...

I kind of tend to think of anyplace south of Holladay as being "at the southern end of the valley," but the nice thing about Cottonwood Heights is that it is really pretty centrally located. Freeway access is easy and I can get from my Cottonwood Heights home to downtown or the airport in 25 minutes. Unfortunately, I can't give the OP much in the way of housing costs, since we bought 29 years ago and will have our house paid for in less than a year.
