We are moving to Sandy Utah from Boston. When we went out for a visit I fell in love with a neighborhood called "Pepperwood". We are on a wait list for Juan Diego, so the children will be going to blesses sacrament. Are there other families that attend catholic school in this neighborhood? Is the neighborhood friendly? Any info would be appreciated. I just want to live in a social neighborhood for my kids and myself since I am a stay at hime mom. Thanks!

While I never lived in Pepperwood, I used to work for Sandy City (where Pepperwood is located) and have spent a great deal of time in the neighborhood. I know someone who had her son go to Blessed Sacrament, it was a great school, but she acknowledged it's not as challenging as Challenger or Waterford. The neighborhood is very friendly, when I would drive though people would wave at me (even though they didn't know me) and there seemed to be a lot of neighbors congregating and talking. I also know the HOA organizes activities (and the HOA seems pretty active). I don't know much about activies for kids, but I'm sure you'll be fine. If I had the money, I would love to live in Pepperwood or the surrounding area!!

I know there is a Pepperwood thread somewhere on here... I would do a search, it might give you more information.

Dani-
We are moving to Utah soon, and we are also looking in Pepperwood. Is your family happy there? What schools are your kids in? I'm looking into Catholic schools and charter schools for my kids (elementary school age). I want a neighborhood where my kids can play outside etc.
Thanks for any feedback.

Candy25,
Not sure if you have moved yet but we moved here from the East coast 5 yrs ago with elementary age kids. We love Pepperwood and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. With that said, a lot of people that attend St. John the Baptist (as we do also) live in Draper. You have about 15 families in Pepperwood that attend St. John/Juan Diego with kids of all ages. Draper is a great area as well but most of my friends say they have to invite school kids over because the kids in the neighborhood don't come out as much. In Pepperwood you actually need to go the speed limit because there are kids everywhere. The rec center in the spring, summer and fall is packed til 10pm almost every night. We have the pool, the basketball courts, tennis courts and a playground. During the summer it is rare that my kids invite their school friends over because they have so many kids in the neighborhood to play with. It's nice because they get to know others besides the Catholic kids. Lol. As many people ask, yes the LDS kids do play with your kids, at least in Pepperwood. Everyone plays together. Except on Sundays. The pool is filled with the Catholic families on Sundays. Haha.
If you haven't moved yet and want more info on neighborhood and schools let me know.
Good luck!

Jensi22,
Are there young kids that live there? We are thinking about moving there and have 2 kids 0-2.
