Another Electronic Recycling Day (house, university, maintenance)

Earth Day is right around the corner and so is the annual electronic waste recycling event at the University of Utah.

Electronic waste is the fastest growing source of hazardous material in our landfills. Estimates calculate that approximately 70% of heavy metals found in landfills come from electronic equipment. In order to keep these toxic heavy metals and potential carcinogenic substances our of our landfills, soils and ground water it is important to take advantage of these free events.
Acceptable items include TVs, computers, DVD players, keyboards, mice, speakers, cameras, fax machines, copiers, printers, scanners, radios, battery chargers, VCRs, stereos, camcorders, PDA's, cellphones, pagers, hard drives and gaming equipment.


When: April 20th
Time: 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Where: University of Utah Maintenance Services building
