Can anybody comment on the cost of such services as lawn/garden care, domestic cleaning services, etc? Let's assume a 0.3 acre lot so lawn is 0.2 acres (???) and 3000 sq ft house. And does this stuff vary much from neighborhood to neighborhood? Input greatly appreciated, thanks.

My lawn guy charged by the size of the lot but I have no idea what per sq ft or whatever. On a .16 acre city lot, it was $30/week a few years ago.

Merry Maids charged by not only the size of the house but the complexity of furnishings - how much to move to dust, etc. Frig cleaning was extra. The owner came out and looked at the place first. She also had different prices depending on whether you wanted weekly or bi-weekly cleaning; they also did Spring/Fall cleanings and construction cleaning.

All depends on who you finally do *business* with.
I think you can figure on 20-40 a week, for the lawn services.
We use a young boy from our ward.
He uses *all our equipment* (battery operated edger, self propelled mower, thus easy to operate) and he always comes with his Dad. I make sure the mower blade is sharpened before they come over. They even fertilise regularly (my stuff), so somewhat a pro-job ??
Afterwards, his Dad and I usually have a BS session, where we solve all the problems of the world ...
(aka *home-teaching*)
The son, visits with his friend next door.

We *clean* our home ourselves.
