I have never had allergies this bad. Moved here in April and have been fine until about 2 weeks ago. The smoke in the summer from the fires was harrowing but it went away within a few days. I thought I was doing so well and now I am on Claritin D, nose spray and eye drops. Can anyone elaborate on the seasonal allergies in the SLC Valley? Is the air quality worse this time of the year than Spring and Summer. I can't imagine that it would be. Air Now has been stating that it's good! Has to be pollen??? Feedback would be great!! I need a little hope that I will be able to breathe again!!

Usually allergies hit me bad every spring and fall but I haven't felt them yet. Maybe I'm cured?!

Anyway the air quality has been far worse this summer than it usually is. It isn't normal... it's been like winter inversions during the summer.

Well I'm jealous of you Chango!! Maybe it is the air?? The spring was great for me. I am glad to hear that the air quality isn't usually this bad. The smoke from the fires made it much worse.

I guess I have an option....running away to Park City!!

I normally don't struggle with allergies. But I went to a baby shower last saturday, and it was outside pretty close to the mountains. I was sneezing my head off! Don't know what it was that was irritating me.

Yes, I've had very bad allergies the past three weeks as well. During the past few weeks, weed pollen was at high or very high levels most days. I always check out the daily pollen forecast at Weather.com which breaks it down by weed, tree, and grass pollens. There's also mold spore activity information too! Now that weed pollen is down to moderate levels or below, I've noticed my allergies these past few days are almost gone! So if your allergies were crazy recently, you're probably allergic to weed... pollen.

Ah thank you for posting Ghungroo!! It makes me feel better to know I am not alone! I am allergic to ragweed and mold.....so it's undoubtedly the reason and the season. I was told at work that ragweed is really high in the fall so that must be it!! I had a much needed relief today with the rain! Thanks for posting!

Realizing now it's the air quality. No more pollen or agitators and my breathing is not any easier. So the pollution must have worsened in September?

Rather unfortunate that you have allergies here. No problem for me. I'm from the west coast and various parts of California and Oregon would just ruin me - i'd get allergies so bad that it lead to constant sinus infections. I literally had to leave the west coast because of that ( well, high cost of living and poor economy were the other main drivers )

I have a few sneezes here and there in Utah, but was completely devoid of allergies in Colorado. I think just certain plants trip you up. Unfortunately you may have to go nomad like me and my lady have, in order to find a place that your body can tolerate.

I have been nomad! I have been pretty nomadic all my life. Moved here from Boulder and never had any issues there. Lived in Sedona for a year and did really well. It's been suggested that it could be that it's so dry here but I did great the first 5 months until mid September. I lived in Santa Barbara for a decade and had some allergies at the beginning but it subsided. It's the nosebleeds that kill me. Never had those before.
