I'm looking at this job offer at ATK Thiokol, but this place seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Daily commute from there to north Ogden (50 min), or Logan (1 hour) would be a nightmare, right? Brigham city seems to be within half an hour, but pad mapper list only 2 places for rent there. Anyone knows anyone working there and how their commute looks like?

I would think Tremonton would be your best bet.

A lot of Thiokol employees live in Brigham City. It's a nice place, I think, but not a whole lot to do there. It surprises me that there are only two rentals available there. Perhaps you should check another source.

My Father-In-Law worked for Thiokol and lived with his family in Brigham City. It's a beautiful, nice area with many outdoor activities. There's got to be more than two rentals available there. It's small - but not THAT small.

Maybe it's more of a "drive around looking for 'for rent' signs" or "check local papers" kind of deal. I checked zillow and found... two houses. Cheap tho... 5 bedroom houses for 1k. Thanks anyway. I applied, will see how it goes. Skiing and mountain biking is close so . Indoor climbing gym is also not too far in Logan - we don't need much more than that

Good ideas on housing searches. Seriously, I really think highly of this area. It's great for families and raising kids. Heard of Peach Days? It's not to be missed. I have fond memories of Brigham City.

My uncle worked for Thikol for years and also raised his family in Brigham City. One of his sons likes the area so much that he still lives there and commutes to Salt Lake City every day. To me, that's nuts, but for him it's worth it.
