Hey guys. We're moving to SLC from out of state, and wondering if it's even worth it to switch banks. The only downside we can see would be ATM fees. Does anyone know of SLC locations that have surcharge free ATMs? We have them in some gas station in PA, so I'm curious to see if anything exist in SLC as well.

Thanks!

I know that Chase does not have a surcharge on their ATMs.

Neither does Wells Fargo.

I use a credit union in the Cirrus/Co-op Network and there are no ATM charges for members. These ATMs are in every Utah city I've been to thus far.

We bank in Texas. That bank has worked out an arrangement with Zions Bank here in Utah that gives us 20 free ATM transactions every month.
Might be worth asking your current bank of they have a reciprocal agreement with a local bank..

Perfect kayti! We have our account at chase too. My parents dd amounts each mos for their cell phones (they live in Ohio, and have Utah 801 cells. Lol) , also for bdays and holidays for the kiddos. I'm not saying I love chase, just that it's convenient for my parents in Ohio, and for us in Utah.

If you are a credit union member you can use ANY credit union ATM - no matter the institution - for free.

We are U of Utah credit union members and often do the drive through at Mountain American Credit union.

NO FEE.

I had to switch banks when I got here because my Texas bank was not national. Wells Fargo wanted to charge me $3 to use their ATM's. Most gas station ATM's wanted 2.50. Never hit any Chase bank ATM's that I recall. If I did, I don't remember the fee. Didn't come across any "free" ones, that's for sure and I hit many trying to find the cheapest. I finally opened up an account with a local bank as I don't like any of the national (Chase, Wells Fargo or BOFA) ones.

Zions. Though I certainly wouldn't recommend them. Credit unions are the way to go.
