1) Is Salt Lake City a bicycle-friendly city?

2) Do Salt Lake City have Severe Thunderstorms, Tornadoes similar to parts of the South & Midwest?

3) Are there a lot of bugs, mosquitoes, roaches & rats like you find in much of the South & Midwest?

Thanks!

1. Seems to be as there are bicycles everywhere. And there are dedicated bike lanes on some streets.

2. No, nothing like what we experienced in Kansas City.

3. No, some mosquitoes but not as much as the Midwest/South. The box elder bugs are annoying but harmless...

1. People bike all the time around here, and there are a zillion trails.
2. We occasionally have severe thunderstorms with hail and high winds, but never bearing tornadoes.
3. There will be mosquitoes near waterways around here, ponds, lakes, other than that, minimal bugs. No rats/roaches seem to be reported

I never thought I'd miss Thunderstorms, but since moving to Utah, I have. Weird how you miss certain things. They are definitely rare here. I noticed there aren't a lot of bugs here. That is awesome. I don't miss the roaches and other varmints of the deep south.

Usually not to many severe storms but I'll never forget the SLC tornado of 1999.
