I don't know how I feel about this. I don't see how Trax could possibly run all the way along 12600 S and not interfere with the already bad traffic which exists there (I also don't see how the train tracks would even fit there unless they tear down tons of homes). I've heard Riverton City has possibly lobbied this plan so there are obviously secretive things happening.

Having this line would make Trax well-connected (we definitely lack east/west-moving tracks in the valley), which would make the public transportation much more efficient in the Salt Lake Valley. If this happens then the ridership could go up to very high levels.

Either way, it's an extremely ambitious plan and I thought it was worth posting this here.

I don't know how secret this is, I think if you look at every multi story apartment building being built, you could plan the trax lines. Draper's latest horror is selling on a whiff and a promise of a trax along the highland drive rail line, and for sure if there is a solid plan for this extension I am seeing nothing. You know how many years these things take, unless federal money appears from nowhere I stay skeptical.
