My husband is up for a promotion at work that would relocate us and our 2 boys to the Salt Lake area. His area would extend up to Logan and down to Salt Lake City. We have never been to Utah and have lived our whole life in Sacramento, CA. In my research, kaysville was really appealing because of the great schools, but then we also started looking into South Jordan area. In looking at the schools I noticed extremely large populations in the elementary schools. My son will be starting kindergarten this year and our elementary schools have about 500-600 kids. Any information about the large school population, traffic, culture, or anything else that is important would be so helpful and appreciated. We are non-LDS, but that doesn't bother us, we just want to be accepted as non-Utah natives!

Thanks!!!!!

There is a large amount of school age children in Utah, hence the large school populations. Regardless of this, kids do quite well because many moms are stay at home moms who volunteer their time in the classrooms.

A family friendly area you should look into is Cottonwood Heights. It is beautiful, has good schools, very accepting, centrally located with tons of things to do.

Our forum regular Katzpur has lived in Cottonwood Heights for many years and hopefully she will stop by to give you all the info!

Welcome to Utah!

Welcome to Utah!
My husband and I raised our two kids (now grown) in Cottonwood Heights and we absolutely love it. It would be about an hour and 45 minutes drive to get to Logan from here, though. If that's not a problem, I would highly recommend Cottonwood Heights.
