I will be moving to slc from MilwaukeeWisconsin late this summer; lived in Milwaukee all my life so far.

What is the Southeast Asian community like; are there any Thai or Vietnamese restaurants out there?

What about Asian grocery stores any suggestion on what stores to go to?

In what areas do most Asians tend to live?

I’ve heard something that I don’t know if it is true or not but is there a limit to alcohol you can purchase?

What kind of gun laws are out there?

And last but not least if I wanted to buy a house on the mountain what area do I need to look at?

Thanks all!

When we moved here (2001) asians were the largest minority, statistically. I believe especially Korean and Philipino. There are alot of Chinese cultural events. Quite a few asian grocery stores. There is one about 2 blocks north of Liberty Park. We have several in north Davis Co, but we also have a military base there. Overall Utah is very white, however.

If you want to live on a mountain in SLC, you better have plenty of money!

Utah has a very lax concealed-carry law, people from other states come here to get their permit.

Hello everyone,

I believe the link below points to last year's Asian Festival. Here is the correct link to this year's Asian Festival:

Contact Us

Should be June 14, 2008.

Hey boomboom, I'm not so sure how many Thai or Lao population there is in SLC. But I do know there is quite a few of Thai and Lao up north of SLC. As for the Hmong population, I know exactly how many there are, because I'm Hmong. And yea most of the Hmong are up north of SLC as well.

There is a Hmong Picnic coming soon. If you want more information on this, let me know.
