If you are visiting this weekend, I think it's Conference weekend. There will be thousands extra going downtown, riding TRAX, etc., to go to the LDS conference (held twice/year). If you are here and thinking of doing some sightseeing, get Temple Square out of the way before then, unless you like crowds and the crazies that demonstrate outside of the conference center. I'm not LDS but I cannot see how those crazies expect anyone to convert because of their rude/loud behavior, insulting people going to a religious meeting. It's very offensive to me. But as I said, expect lots of folks downtown!

I wonder if Gateway will be inundated too? It's supposed to be nice this weekend, & we like to go downtown to the water fountains at Gateway w/ the kids when it's nice out. =)

No, it's just the traffic going to the conference, and the parking. But the Gateway itself should not see more traffic inside. Conference is an all-day type of thing.

My grandkids (ages 2 and 3) absolutely LOVED the fountain - running in and out, standing there getting soaked. I'm not sure this weekend will be warm enough - we were there in late May.

For those visiting the city, the Gateway has a fountain that is set in the paved area and the water goes on/off from individual jets, set to music. You can walk through it, try to dodge the jets, run around getting very wet-kids love it.

My kids are 3 1/2 & 4 1/2, so close to your grandkids ages. =) We love it down there. My kids are the timid ones w/ the water. They don't like to get wet even when it's 100 out. Well, they like to get wet, I guess, just not soaked. We brought them down in swimsuits & everything! =) &, there's a certain store there that I like to go to, so it works for all of us. =)

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the Gateway! Although it's been too cold to be frolicking in the water these days! Still...it's such a fun, lively, dynamic place! We love the local bands / singers that perform just outside ZTejas on the weekends. Such a neat atmosphere!
