I said "pretty much". I didn't cite a specific percentage from the census as a figure to back my claim. And again, I said the wealthier parts of the East Bench, not the entire East Bench. I did go back and read the OP and see the error in my ways. I had automatically assumed they were looking for affluent areas based on the $1M max budget without realizing that they may very well end up in a home for half the price in which case the entire East Bench could be included. In case my original assumption was accurate and they want to be nearer to the high, then I stand by my words.

KAVM - I don't care who's Mormon or not. I happen to live in an area where religion doesn't matter. Such matters seem to be common issues of importance when discussing areas to live on the East Bench and are often mentioned in the very first post, as it was in this very thread. If a person wants to lead off with religion, I will respond with religion.

slomofo - I have no problems with your post. I do still disagree with the 90% comment. The area I was referring to includes the Huntsman residence, so not exactly the low rent district of East bench. Yes, there are plenty of $1M and above places here but I'd not put the fraction of Mormon residents at more than 50%. That said, I haven't done any scientific sampling either, just impressions and some of the people we know or meet in our near daily walks around the neighborhood.

does the mormon church view the influx of people as a threat to the church in terms of #s and %s declining or as potential converts?

No, I would actually say the church is pretty positive about the influx.
