I have never been to SLC and know very little about it. Maybe you guys and gals can help me out?

I am going to be in SLC from one to two years and I want to live in a hip, cool place. I was thinking of a loft that is converted warehouse or factory. I'm sure you get the idea . . . I also want to find a place near the barsbecause I like to drink. I also like the arts, the more progressive crowds, and live music. What area of SLC would be the best place to live?

Also, what is the dating scene like? Hopefully some of the single people will chime in and tell me where the hot spots are at.

Thanks.

There was recently a whole article on the whole loft thing happening downtown SLC. It was in "Beehive Magazine" (I think it's called?). Would give you some good info on that if you could locate a back copy (it was maybe 1-3 months ago).
