So my wife and I live in Long Beach California and we are wanting to get out. She is a teacher with an MA in reading and I have an MA (non-clinical) in psych. Neither of us are LDS. However most of the LDS people I have met are super nice and I have no problem with them or the church.

How is the market for teachers? My wife works in LA and has a lot of experience in lower income schools with Spanish speakers . Will that help?

I work in operations at a university but can do whatever.

We are looking for somewhere where we could have an 1/2 acre plus of land for under 250k and still be able to find jobs for our experience within reasonable commuting distance. Also, I want to be able to have more then 2 dogs and access to nature, trails rivers whatever. We both work in LA so that is pretty broad.

Where should we be looking? Thanks for any help.

I know that Park city school district is recruiting bi-lingual English/Spanish elementary teachers for a dual immersion program for the 2009 - 2010 school year.
For more information you can visit this web site www.pcschools.us
Goodbye.

I believe there is a large Hispanic population in parts of the SLC valley so experience with Spanish would probably be a plus for someone looking for a job

I'd say, come here and visit. Drive around. and check out some areas.

Getting a teachers job....., wait until the economy picks up.
Right now, a bit low due to the situation we are in.
