I would like to know where would be a good place to live that is about 30 mins away from the salt lake city airport. I would like somehwere that is safe, and the rent on a 3 bed room apartment is about 1000 to 1200 a month.
Thank you, Michelle

That covers a whole lot of territory. You could probably go as far south as West Jordan (if not a little further), Bountiful, Centerville, North Salt Lake to your north and Tooele and Stansbury to your west. Do you want an apartment, or would a house suffice?

Are you single? Any kids? I'm inclined to recommend Bountiful or even downtown Salt Lake. However, I'd like to know more about your situation.

Thank you, I am married with 2 children ages 5yrs and 11 months, we will be renting an apartment for the first 6 months to a year. I would like an area that is fairly safe, and with good schools. My 5 yrold will start kindergarden in the fall, however I would like to do one year of a private kindergarden, church or non church based(any denomintaion will do). Oh we live In Pleasant Grove right now,we love it, however my husband wants to be less than 45 mins away from work.
Thank you again, Michelle

Have you considered purchasing a condo instead of renting? There are some new condos in MillCreek that is offering their new condos for 30% off their sale price.
I happen to be doing some research on real estate in salt lake city Just thought I'd share it with you
Oh and their site is Mill Creek Terrace Condominiums.

Hope that helps!

Millcreek might be too far away from the airport. Stansbury Park sounds like it would be good for you.

Thank you for the suggestions, Dh does not want to buy right away, and if we do buy he wants a standalone home.

I don't think Millcreek would be that far. Straight down I-80 to I-15 and back onto I-80 to the airport. I don't know what the traffic is like on I-80 these days or if there is morning rush hour traffic that would slow things down. But generally, it doesn't take longer than 20-25 min to get there.

Millcreek to the Airport is 15, 20 minutes. It surprises me every time how fast I get there and end up getting there earlier than I expected.

You might want to consider Pinnacle Highland in Cottonwood Heights. I'd say it's almost exactly 25 miles to the airport, and near an interstate on-ramp.
