No clue but you can call the hospitals and ask the range.

lousy..sorry!

I am an RN at the U, with three years experience. I make $22.15/hr. In California I made $45.00/hr (evening shift diff of 2.00).

Quite the difference! Yes, the cost of living is lower, but not THAT much. It's been a bit hit to me and my family.

There is little variation in pay across the valley.

Yup...teachers and emergency/medical folks are considered to be very underpaid sectors in Utah. It's part of the reason many schools are sub-par with other parts of the country...they cannot keep enough talent.

How much is your rent in LA? I am an RN in SLC with 5 years experience. I work in psych. I make $24.oo/hr. That's about similar to the pay when I worked in Mt. too. But rent in Mt. was less so I took a bit of a hit moving here. However you can rent a good house in a nice part of the valley here for $800-$1200/month here. I have a family member who rents in LA for $4000 per month. I don't think 40 some dollars an hour would cover that for me. But I do agree nurses and teachers in Utah deserve more.
