We are moving to SLC in 2 weeks and looking for a place to lease.

We will have a dog under 25lbs, and non-smoking. We do not want to pay over $800 but have some room on the budget.

Are there any "loft style" apartments? Modern, open floor plans etc.

All help appreciated

There are lofts downtown but they are new and might be pricy. I don't know anything about rents so can't help you htere. The Gateway area is popular and fairly new.

There are a few amazing loft buildings downtown, but I think most are condos for sale and not generally for lease. But, it's worth calling and asking because they are beautiful.

The original SLC loft building (mid-1990s) is the Dakota on 400 West and 200 South.
Newer loft spaces that are nice: Broadway Lofts (300 South between West Temple and 200 West); Westgate Lofts (200 South between 300 and 400 West).

I don't know prices for those buildings, if they are available for lease.

You could also try sublet.com. Friends have had luck finding 1 year leases in amazing spaces, from professionals in the city who are on 1 year out of town assignments and such.
