Hey - no judgements! If you feel a little nip and tuck will help you feel better about yourself - go for it. I have to say though, I didn't expect to see it so much in Utah. I guess I 'assumed' that with the whole "LDS treat your body as a temple thing" - that augmenting what God gave you would be a big no-no. Again, I don't care - I was just surprised. What are your thoughts?

That surprised me too! It seems to be overboard here on plastic surgery!

Honestly, the influence of the LDS church on the general population of the state is WAY overestimated. This is just more proof Utah is more like the rest of the country than people think.

Many surgeries, not just plastic surgery, are cheaper in UT than in most other states. For example, the hospitals that do gastric bypass have patients from TX, NYC, and other eastern states. Maybe it's just a question of being more affordable so women do it. Since i don't know anyone who has done it, I can't really offer any other answer.

There is also a major "Keeping up with the Jonses" mentality in this state (at least along the Wasatch front).

I think it is probably due to that Billboard on the 15 for a plastic surgeon, it says something like. "Finally getting a D is a good thing".

Chango

You're probably right. I guess I have a lot to learn about the Utah culture. I intend to have a good time in the process!
