Hello everyone, I am looking for some assistance in locating a good neighborhood in West Jordan that is good for a family of 6 that is non LDS. We are relocating due to my husbands work and want to raise our children in a good area, but also an area that has children to play with. I am grateful for any suggestions. We do not have to live in West Jordan we could live in another city, but just no more than about 30 minutes from the airport.

Stansbury Park is located in Tooele County, which is about 20 minutes due west of the airport. It is a very nice suburb with lots of kids. We are not LDS and that has NEVER been an issue for my kids living here.

Murray!

It's close to I-15 and 215, so easy access to the airport.

Great little suburb with more a community/town feel than many suburbs in SLC Valley as it's been it's own city for a long time.

Great school system, although parts of Murray are in the Granite School District, but those schools are excellent as well. Cottonwood High School and Murray High School are the two High Schools in Murray.

Great housing options, nice neighborhoods with a strong sense of community. And a wide variety of housing prices, but no real "bad" areas that I've seen.

Intermountain Health Care is located in Murray...it's a huge hospital complex that serves most of the valley.

Great shopping options...which leads to a very strong tax base for the city.

Murray Park is a wonderful park for families...one of the biggest in the valley. Murray Park contains the Murray Rec. Center, Ice Rink, and has a Farmer's Market every Saturday from May through October.

I could go on...but you get the picture...

Default It's all good in the 'hood

Article about Jordan District & taxes.

The Jordan School District (which includes West Jordan) just split off from the rich eastern suburbs. So some Jordan district employees have had to face layoffs.

I live in the part of West Valley City near West Jordan. It's in the Granite School District. It's also closer to the airport. I can always make it to the airport in a half hour, unless there is snow.

I don't think there is a neighborhood in UT that is non- mormon friendly (lived here 25 years). I suggest you find a church you like with a really good kids program & move near it. Suggestion: Shadow Mountain Church; WJ or Saint Frances Kearns. The schools have a good population of kids who attend these churches.

Maybe that's because you two are both Mormon-friendly. I'm pretty sure BuckEyezRule found another one! My gosh, they're everywhere! You're everywhere! You're taking over the state!

Hmm...possibly. I prefer to think of it as "good people friendly" though.
