I've been thinking about getting a consultation for those invisalign braces. I have two teeth that need to be "fixed." I've also thought about porcelain veneers as an alternative but they run about $800 per tooth!

How much did those invisalign braces cost you? How many teeth did it cover? Did they stay on a long time?

For the OP, I was looking through a referral packet that I have...here's something that was listed under dental for San Antonio:

Barrio Comprehensive Health Clinic | 1102 Barclay, 78207 | 210-434-2368 | MWF 8am to 5pm. T/TH 7PM.

(Note: I don't know what they provide or how they work, I just found it in a packet. So I'd at least give them a call and see what kind of services they provide and their requirements if any).

Also, it's been mentioned on here by me more times than I can count: San Antonio Christian Dental Clinic, which provides free services to qualified individuals.

I've had fillings, an extraction, exrays, an exam...and next Wednesday I'll have a tooth cleaning and I'm finally done! No more dental work for me.

They do a lot of great stuff. The only bad thing is that they are always booked with current patients making it difficult to get new patients into their clinic.

I've been trying for weeks to get my Dad in there because I know he would qualify. They just have too many people right now to take on more new patients.

They also recently changed it so that you have to schedule an "available" appointment JUST to turn in the paperwork to see if you qualify.

Goodluck to your friend.

Prices vary between dentists and I suppose how long treatment is. Several co workers also have them and after insurance, they have paid around $4k out of pocket. From just visually looking at their teeth (a few more misaligned teeth than I have), it seems they need to wear them for a longer time. For me, it was $2,800, a one time charge to my Care Credit charge account. I wore them for 9 months. Wear them all the time, remove when you eat, brush teeth after eating, then put them back on again. Wearing them all night too. I now have the last set of trays that I wear every night to keep them aligned. There's different trays and the trays are gradually different each time to make the change in your teeth. Good luck!
