I checked my phone and the firmware version says 2.1. I have some friends with the older version (1.5 I think) and they are asking how to upgrade. I sent them to the link you dm'd me (GREAT link btw), but do you know easily what they need to do?

Just an FYI... 2 of Sprints plans were just named in Kiplinger's as the best value for cell plans... The $69.99 everything data plan and the family share plan for $129 where you get 1500 shared minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data... This is the plan we have, the family one... The $129 includes 2 lines and for $10 more per line you can add up to 3 additional lines...

I have yet to drop any calls with AT& T. I credit the N82 handset as much as the network though.

No Sprint for me - I don't do CDMA.

Yep, Sprint is a better deal in terms of price.

Now if only we can get a CDMA version (or dual version) of an Iphone so we don't have to use AT&T exclusively.

With ATT getting rid of unlimited data (new customers don't get unlimited anymore) I would say sprint. Why get an iphone (which apparently doesn't make calls anymore) if you are going to get hit hard doing all the things they are advertising for you to do with it.

Sprint has cheaper plans with unlimited data. You can choose to do the Evo 4g thing for 10 bucks extra. The android phones are a lot of fun and most of the apps are free. You are also not restricted to what Lord Apple decides is appropriate for your phone.

Coverage is pretty strong. I switched away from ATT because they were not upgrading their system to accommodate all the Iphone users. ATT is trying to avoid laying out any more money into the network here. Calls drop all the time. The Ipads using the system didn't help. HEB dropped ATT and went with Sprint over the dropped call issue. They did not do it based on rumor but based on the fact that they could rarely complete a conference call on ATT.

Jailbreaking is easy. And on the contrary, with GSM you aren't restricted to what handsets the carrier decides is appropriate for the network.
