PA Bus Terminal serves , Intercity , Regional & City Buses.

Newark Penn Station - Serves about 120,000 people daily

Serves all Northeast Corridor Amtrak Services and 3 New Jersey Transit lines (future 7 by 2030) , thats just the Main Railway floor. The PATH inbound platform is also located on this floor.

Above that is the discharge PATH station.

Below the Railway platforms is the Concourse and waiting area.

The 2 Bus Terminals are located on both sides of the concourse / waiting area. Greyhound , Megabus , and Boltbus along with NJT / PA buses use the Terminals.

Below the Station is the Basement , and in there is the Newark Light Rail Terminal , 2 lines (4 planned by 2025).

The Station in Texas terms is medium size. 1x4 blocks , the whole station is 1x8 blocks but some of it is usable. But Amtrak / NJT / PATH plan to upgrade it as part of there 2020 plans.

We don't even have regional buses here, as far as I know.

Yes we do.

Greyhound does not serve south Texas, other than San Antonio. Valley Transit takes care of that.

I got the impression a regional bus was for nearby cities. South Texas in itself it bigger than many small states. Some of those lines are 100 to 200 miles.
