I just finished kung fu class and the visibilty on the ride home decreased dramatically! The streets are getting deep... So I turned into an airport lot with some other cars. Just waiting the storm out. The radio comercial "babies drivin' ve-hick-als" is on... I really hate that commercial. It's as bad as the commerial with the lady who's 15 month old baby is reading and solving linear algebra. At least Carmen isn't on the radio.

So is there a particular radio commercial that drives you nuts?

Half off the subject: The temp has really dropped here in the 410/Harry Wurzbach area. I have all my windows open and there is a wonderful breeze coming in, and is raining as well. A beautiful evening! (no AC!!!)

We needed rain. Granted we're ahead for the year, but it had been a few weeks since my lawn got a good soaking.

As I mentioned in the Alex thread, Alex's path is highly dependent on the strength of the ridge over the Great Plains. One thing that concerns me is how widespread and intense tonight's rainfall was. If you remember back to 2007 where it rained for several days on end, computer models by nature tried to forecast ridge building prematurely. The ridge never settled in until Hurricane Humberto brought in additional dry air in the upper levels over our area beginning the 2007-2009 drought.

I think that, similarly, today's rain may inhibit ridge growth just enough to possibly favor a slightly more northerly track for Alex. Early computer models are already showing a more northerly track tonight.

I'll post a full update in the other thread later on tonight/tomorrow morning.

Just a few drops here in Live Oak as well (even though there was a bit of thunder which made me think we would get lucky)... but my husband was at work (North Star area) and said it poured/stormed - knocked out lights for a few minutes.

Yep. My earlier link in this thread pretty much says the same.
