I have seen boxed cannoli shells at Central Market, but they are a bit thick for my taste and you have to crisp them up in the oven first before filling them because they get soggy/stale in the box. I believe I heard that Nadler's makes cannoli so you might be able to buy shells from them.

If you want to try making them yourself, they're really not that difficult (just time intensive). Here are a couple decent recipes: Cannoli alla Siciliana Recipe : : Food Network and Sicilian Cannoli Recipe at Epicurious.com. Just a note, my Sicilian grandma makes these for Christmas every year, and you do NOT have to put candied citron in the ricotta. Eeeww. Ricotta with just the chocolate, rum and cinnamon is fantastic.

Since we're on the subject, who sells fresh canollis in town?

One of my best friends is from NYC and always raves about them but I have never tried one. He wants me to wait until I go up to NYC w/ him to try one, but I can't wait that long.

I tried Nadlers and they told me they would not sell the shells. Where is an actual Central Market here? I've only been to them in Dallas. I'd be willing to give theirs a try. HEB cannolis that they sell are pretty good. Not the best but they are good. Gives me my fix when I really gotta have one....
