Here's the video from KSAT:
Motorist Suggests Racial Profiling In Traffic Stop - Video - KSAT San Antonio (http://www.ksat.com/video/24202476/index.html - broken link)

All she had was an expired Mexican ID. Shouldn't this lady be in jail RIGHT NOW?

Would this have been the same outcome if a local citizen were pulled over with no license, insurance, and no vehicle registration?

Your thoughts?

I woud think any motorist who was stopped with no current ID or registration, or insurance would be taken to jail and the car towed. How is she being profiled? Like she is special because she is Mexican and not legal. I have no sympathy for her. She was lucky enough to be released to her husband and has to go to court like any other person. If she can produce a current license and insurance, the case will be dismissed. Just liike anyone else.
She is making alot of noise and calling the race card to try and get sympathy and get off. Get over it, sympathy is in the dictionary.

At worst a local citizen pulled over for no ID, expired registration and no insurance would get 2 (maybe 3 ) tickets for all of those and have their car towed as is customary when pulled over with no insurance. They certainly arent going to haul you off to jail.

100% wrong

there are dozens of COPS episodes out there where someone refuses to ID themselves or does not have a CURRENT VALID ID and they are hauled off to jail

if you don't believe me next time you are pulled over tell the cop you have no ID and you don't know your DL or your SS number and see if you are let go or you go to jail

I guarantee unless you produce an ID you will go to jail period unless the cop is a slacker or not doing their job

if what you are saying was even remotely then everyone and anyone with any kind of a warrant would just have to say "I don't have an ID and I don't know my social, DL number, and date of birth" and they would be let go with a ticket made out to "someone that does not know their name, date of birth, or SS number".......which would be flat worthless even if they did show up in court

I don't mean to hijack this thread but while SSN is being mentioned here. I was once pulled over by Shavanno Park PD a few years ago and the officer asked for my SSN. I was surprised and asked him why he needed that.

Apparently at that time (and maybe they still do)...put your SSN on the ticket. I gave him all of my information but refused to provide my SSN. At first he was a little rude about it...but he didn't make a big scene about it.

My question is why do they need your SSN if you are able to provide all other legal documents like DL, Insurance, etc?

I didnt just make this up. I have been pulled over and didnt have my license and didnt know the DL#. Cop didnt ask me for my social. He gave me a ticket for no DL and sent me on my way. The ticket was dismissed when I provided my DL.

But I'll make sure I watch COPS next time I am unsure.

Your thoughts?
why is this c.... on the news?
It's another "He said, she said" news.
The only thing that I got from this is that they are accusing each other of doing something wrong... but where are the facts? Did she have her papers? Was she fined? Is she taking this case to court?
