Just found a home in Royal Ridge neighborhood and wondering if anyone can give me specifics, i.e., crime, safety, community, etc. I did a search on this forum and the posts are from 2007 and older, so I was wondering if anyone had any new info. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, not RRidge, but close. We had rented a house across from that neighborhood and lived there for about 18 months. Felt very safe. The only thing was (and this happens at my parent's house in Windcrest, just up the road, too) so many solicitors. That drove me crazy.

Seems like a nice neighborhood to me. The houses are so pretty, and folks seem to keep up with their yards. I saw people walking all the time when taking her to school and bringing her home.

Do you have kids going to school there? Our daughter just finished kindergarten. We really loved her teacher and the school. I was impressed with the kids- from the ones in her class to the older ones. I know this is a silly thing, but the kids would go out of their way to hold the door open for me when I would come in and drop her off. And used their manners- calling me "ma'am" and please and thank you's.

Thanks Did! We don't have children yet, but it's good to know the schools are decent.

We experienced the same thing when we drove around the neighborhood. The homes/yards were well maintained and people were out walking at 8:30-9:00pm. I have lived in San Antonio for about 2 years and work from home (we are now renting an apt) so I don't get out uch except to go to the grocery store and back. We currently live near Bitters and Coker Elementary School and the neighborhood is "changing" (to be polite). We like living in San Antonio and hubby works at Fort Sam so we wanted to make his commute as "painless" as possible.

I truly appreciate your response and I am very pleased that we are buying a house and will moving to the RR area.

Thanks again
