Being a photographer, I get strange requests at times of people wanting portraits at strange locations. I just received a request that a client would like family portraits near a cross. Now I know a few catholic churches that come to mind, however not sure if photography would be allowed, and also just wanted to ask out there if anyone else knew of a place near the 1604/culebra area that perhaps portraits like this could be taken. I know of a church near the shooting range that has a cross out in their parking lot, but unsure if this type of photography would be allowed. Thanks for any help

I know it sounds macabre, but i have seen some beautiful pictures done in graveyards and they usually have some large, sometimes fancy, crosses of varying materials and styles.

Older larger graveyards would be your best bet. I little scouting would tell you a lot.

I'm almost certain you can photograph inside any catholic church as long as there aren't any services going on. Call any rectory -

Maybe the best one that you are going to find is in Mission San Juan (SE San Antonio)
It has a big wooden cross surrounded by cacti, I think the cross is about 8-10' tall.

The Church of the Little Flower is open every day. I was there about 10 am 2 weeks ago on a Thursday. Nobody was there. I even took my dog in for a special intention.
