Will be going to the Alamo and probably down on the RiverWalk.

Thanks.

don't park at Rivercenter mall. It is very overpriced.

For meters I usually have the most luck with the ones by La Villita, but even there it's hit or miss.

There are lots of parking garages. Most will have a flat rate or a maximum daily charge that is around $7-$10.

Hi.

At a parking spot.

J/K,

Right around the corner (facing the Alamo, look to your left, just a few hundred meters they are a couple of parking lots, never had a hard time finding a parking spot near the Alamo itself) from Alamo Plaza there are several little park & pay spots and quite a few metered spots also.

The Rivercenter Mall used to have 2 hours free with validation from any store in the mall. Is this still true?

I like to park in the city parking garages. They are sprinkled all over downtown, and are relatively inexpensive, plus safe.

I agree - we park here and you can go in the back entrance to the Alamo. Then it's not that far from the Riverwalk either.

No. They stopped doing that a few years ago. First the cut back to one hour free standard (no validation required) and then they removed that.

I think you can get some free parking (2 or 3 hours) there if you see a movie. Maybe if you go to the comedy club (not sure about that one).

Personally I'm glad the Rivercenter got rid of that 2-hour with validation business. I got the feeling the shop attendants in the mall got sick of every third person asking them for a validation.

My favorite place to park downtown is the garage with the spiral ramp next to Schilo's on Commerce at Presa St.

We parked at the Houston St. garage last night for $7. We only had to walk about 3-4 blocks to get to Alamo Plaza--I lost track because my teeth were chattering. All of the ground level parking lots were completely full.
