Depends on what type of camping your looking for. If it's tenting, them Pops is one place to go, also Thousand trails but you have to be a member there. I got to Lake Medina RV resort but they don't allow tents. I think there are a few more spots to tent camp but cant think of them.

We used to go to Goat Hill camp ground many years ago. I'm guessing it is still in business. You might call some of the local businesses around Medina and see if they are still around. I did a Google on them and didn't turn up much but if you do the same you might turn up a phone number for them.

Just up the lake, but on the river, is Paradise Canyon. It seems like a nice place to camp, but I've never done so...

Cheers! M2

'Twas a joke. We only get naked when we are on private land (and usually only after the bonfire has leveled out, the beer has flowed and Willie has sung Whiskey River at least 3 times).

Goat Hill is closed. They sold the property about three years ago. Bergin and Val still live there but the park is closed.

I've also heard that Paradise Canyon is nice but I've never been.

There is Joes Place. I am putting a link to their website, it says they have camping but I would call first because someone told me a couple of weeks ago that there was no camping anymore (but you should call to confirm that) Joe's Place Marina & Resort at Medina Lake, Mico Texas - Marina, Boat Launch, Swimming, Party Room Rentals, Camping, Picnicing, Fishing, Scuba Diving, Dock

Pop's Place...... well, it was jacked up during 4th of July but frankly it is a little too "dumpy" for my taste. It could be a nice place if the right people would come in there and clean it up. (it is for sale).

In Bandera there is Hill Country Natural Area. It's primitive camping (never been there either).

HC SNA is primitive. Most of it is equestrian camping. We've been there a few times, and there are 2 very good sites for privacy. We love the place, it's off the beaten path and not a whole lot of people and that's just excellent. There is no swimming there, so if you prefer to swim, you'll be better off elsewhere.
