In the I-10 median, just south of 410, a whole bunch of new trees have been planted. Very glad to see it. But I can't get over the fact that they planted redbuds next to palm trees. Does this seem weird to anyone else?

I mean, I know esperanzas don't necessarily grow next to live oaks in nature, and it's done all the time in landscaping. But the redbud/palm tree combination really seems odd. I've never seen it done before and I can't think they will look good together.

If it's green and growing it's a good thing. I doubt the people who decided on the tree scape were worried about what looks good. After all, your not going to be sitting in a chair with a margarita admiring the landscape. If you are, I don't want to know that.

No margarita while driving for me, just a car wreck while staring at the stupid-looking juxtaposition.
