I'm trying to find an apartment before I move to SA next month and it seems like every single listing I see is a bait and switch by locators. Are there any reputable agencies or complexes one would recommend for the SA area?

Thanks!

I did. That's usually my go-to. Locators were almost all I found.

go to forrent.com
apartmentguide.com
moveforfree.com

I'm sure there are other reputable apartment sites. Most complexes have their own websites as well.

We got fed up with the locaters too. Had to just sort thru all the craigslist ads. We finally found a nice house decent price. It was thru a property managment, but the process was SUPER easy. I will give you the web address, not sure if they have anything available. www.professionaldefaultservices.com

Just like sapphire recommended, look through an apartment guide which you can pick up for free at a grocery or convenient store or you can also go to their websites. Moveforfree.com will help you find an apartment, and as long as you write down their name as the ones referring you to the complex, they'll move you for free. I happened to find my apartment on my own, still wrote them down, and they moved me for free.

If you are moving from a city we operate (Houston, Dallas or Austin), we can have a crew load you things, then have another crew unload here in SA (you just have to rent a truck. We can If you are not in one of those cities, we can still unload your things here or give you $100 Cash. It's at least worth check us out. Best of luck on your move!

Well, that always depends on your price range.

Be careful, as many apartment complexes are managed poorly. This is true even of some complexes that otherwise look great, in great parts of town.

We found ours through Apartment Ratings :: The leading source of apartment reviews by renters for renters., and then ran Google searches on the actual apartment names (those we liked, that were rated well) to pull up their website and other info.

Apartment Ratings isn't perfect, as there are some reviews that are less than genuine (think apartment personnel posting fake good reviews on a bad complex), and sometimes there's not much information. Or there might be plenty of reviews but they're over a year old and the complex has changed management or something.

So far we've been OK, though. A few complaints here and there, but overall a decent experience for a decent price. And we didn't have to use any kind of locator at all - we found this on our own, just researching the internet one night.

Good luck!

It really depends on what end of town you are looking for and your Price range.

I just moved into Tara Vista on 151, and I love it
