If you want good nachos (more texmex) ...get the chicken nachos at Buffalos Southwest Cafe

TC seems to go through cycles. From about 1999 to 2004, I would say they had the best (beef) fajitas in SA, especially during lunch hour and rush times. But now they taste more like beef jerkey or something. It probably took more work to make the better-tasting ones. The chicken has always been about the same, to my taste buds.

But their other stuff seems to have stayed pretty constant. Much better than anything at Taco Bell.

Every once in a while I do crave quick Mexican food without having to run in somewhere, so Taco Cabana is usually the answer for that... And yes, it does taste like the chicken fajita meat has changed within the past month or two. It doesn't have any real flavor, is very dry, etc. So now if I go through there I will probably get flautas or nachos.

The last one I got off of Walzem at TC's was dark meat {about 2 months back when they did the free tacsos} but had pieces of bone in it. So did my mothers taco.

I won't go near the place now, even for free food.

This is disappointing to hear. Chicken fajitas are my usual order when I visit TC.

Aye. I'm used to the white meat in the fajita tacos. We also share an order of the flautas, and I don't care if that's white or dark. I guess everyone is trying to maximize profit by cutting cost (quality).

take note of the microwave oven by the register...they put the platters in there to melt the cheese and I told them I do not eat microwaved food! Who knows what else they cook in the microwave. To go into a TC and sit down and eat is just awful...the chairs are very uncomfortable and there is nothing pleasing to the eye in any of them......I don't go there any longer because I have choices.

Oh well, I guess Stone Oak is too good for Taco Cabana. Not surprised. LOL (yes, you just got laughed at).

I wish they did the pineapple salsa all the time, instead of only when they offer the shrimp fajita stuff. It's good on the beef and chicken fajita tacos.

Yeah, if you notice on the bag at Whataburger it says "Wait for your hamburger instead of it waiting for you" something like that....always made fresh to your order and their meat tastes good contrary to some other nat'l chains.

Mama Margie's is pretty good compared to tc's. They have gone downhill from many years back.
