The Russian community is so much smaller here that we are having a really hard time finding much so any help is greatly appreciated.

We just moved here and are having a really hard time finding a native Russian tutor/babysitter for our 8 year old girl. What we'd really like is about 2 hours per day during the week (after school until we get home from work). Bulverde and TPC area.

We found Sasha's and were told about Saint Anthony's (though it seems it's English language). Other than that, we're lost.

I'm really sorry to hear this. I wish I had more info--but did you try SitterCity or Care.com? I pay 9.99 a month but I have to say I REALLY found a GREAT sitter. You can put your own ad up and let them come to you--you never know what you might find--you can specify you need a tutor fluent in Russian.

I didnt even know there was a Russian community of any kind...what is Sasha's? (is that a place to eat?...or a nanny service?)

I was raised in a Russian home (here in the States) and my wife was as well and is fluent.

You might want to check here:
San Antonio Russian Meetup Group (San Antonio, TX) - Meetup
and The Jewish Community Center

Thanks for the reply. Sasha's is a Russian shop (though their magazines are only Polish) that sells mostly food. Where we used to live there was 9 shops like this in an area half this size, but at least there is even 1 here.

Our daughter needs to speak Russian to more people because she is losing the language, which is why we are looking for this.

Privet, kak dela? Viy otkuda v Rossiye ili CCCP?

And surprisingly enough, there are quite a few Russians and Russian-speaking families in town, they're just scattered all over the place. My family lives not too far away from you, we're at 281 & Evans.
