i'm having a bit of a hard time finding a good resource that provides houses to rent out, specifically in the king william area, olmos park and alamo heights would also be great. searching property websites just gives me the prices of the houses to purchase and craiglist just gives me apartments when i'm looking for places to rent... so, does anyone have any good resources that give this kind of information in the roundabout area i'm looking at?

Drive around the area. Some of those places are rented by private individuals who do not use web sites. They probably will put out thier own sign. Also, go to a local realtor for the neighborhood where your looking.
If you are out of town, research realtors on the web and go to those reealtors web sites and inquire about what exactly you are looking for in a house. You can use as many realtors as you need to find a place. The LL pays the realtor, so you can talk to as many as it takes.

I totally agree with the previous poster. A dear friend of mine was in your situation and found that a lot of homeowners who lease their property don't necessarily use realtors because of the management fees. Your best bet is to drive around your desired neighborhoods and look for signs. Closer to the end of the month, as of now, is best to look because leases end at the end of the month and properties become available.

i'm confused by your post. I know for a fact that both realtor.com and craigslist have house rentals on their sites. Are you looking for special event or short-term rentals?

i've never been to realtor.com thx i'll look it up
if you do a craigslist search, there are a grand whopping total of 3 houses to look at, one of which probably doesn't have a picture
- what i'm looking for is just a regular 6-12month term nothing special, but yea i might just follow the suggestions from above n visit the areas

a search in mls had no single family homes for rent in King William. For Monte Vista, Alamo Hts and Olmos Park there are a total of 12 rental listings ranging from $800-$3200 a month. Find a Realtor and work with them.

Craigslist isn't a tool that many Realtors use in SA. Yes, you'll find a lot of listings, but they're mostly inexpensive houses and the purpose is to get buyers. It tends to bring out flakes (people with no intention of actually buying or renting). Now, I'm sure some folks have used it successfully, but for the most part, it's useless in SA. Contact a Realtor to help you with your search.

In other cities, CL is really a great tool, but in San Antonio, there are better ways to find a great place.
