I just purchased a large wooden playset from Sams for my kids- similar to the Rainbow playsets-- We can not put it together by ourselves- I have no idea how to find someone to hire to put it together-- any suggestions please!! Kids are anxious to play on it!
Thank you
Niki

you want people who can read the instructions and would assemble it so that it is safe to use--would not recommend going to a jump site--where they just jump on your truck when you honk....

If they're men then it's ok, we don't need silly instructions

Home Depot, Lowes, reputable hardware stores, paint stores...etc....usually have a bulletin board with "handyman" type info. If they personally recommend someone, all the better....then ask them for references.

While it sounds like you just want some "muscle", be very careful about who you invite on your property. I would never hire anyone without some kind of referral or reference. I've known too many clients that have gotten ripped off this way......not only overcharging for work, but casing a residence for "later".
Sounds synical, but it's lessons learned!

You can also ask the employees in those stores for recommendations. I found most of them freelance...
Being careful is definitely a must though and agree on payment including when each amount is paid. Anyone that wants to be paid in full up front should be shown the door.. and if you have a bad feeling about the person I'd personally trust my instincts.

I wouldn't even pay half up front if all they except it cash!

You can also try handmanconnection.com and servicemagic.com. We found an awesome electrician through servicemagic.

Thank you all so much for the suggestions- I had kind of worried about someone casing the place and the saftey of their work-- my husband actually decided to take the task on himself and it is looking good!
