I need to replace my home security system. Mine hasn't worked properly for quite some time. The big problem I had with my old system was false alarms. That stupid system would drive me crazy going off in the middle of the night, while I was at work, while I was out for the evening, when ever I would go out of town. It was terrible. When I would call them up to service it the alarm tech would blame the phone system. When the phone tech would come out he would blame the alarm system. I got so fed up with it that I just disconnected the whole thing. So far I have been lucky. I have this deep down feeling that it's time to get another system installed. Can anyone recommend a company that they have used and feel good about or not felt good about. I'd like to avoid a repeat of my last fiasco.
Thanks

Apartment Security | Wireless Home Security System | Wireless Alarm
Love it! Self installation, monitoring is $19.99/month. The only huge expense is buying the actual window sensors, etc. No need for landline; just calls your cell. Coming soon is the fire and medical monitoring. It's touted as for apartments but its easily doable for a home that is under 3,000 sq. ft. Setup was a breeze and I've had one faulty sensor but the keypad tells you go and Simplisafe replaced it free. I have two sets of french doors, one front door, one garage door, and 3 windows. You can drill the sensor plate into your window sill to avoid it falling off and tripping a alarm if you'd like.
Good luck!

Security One, Inc. is a locally-owned and operated company that I have used for 4 years. Their monthly fee is totally affordable (from $27 a month) and we are very pleased with their service. We once had a minor issue which they resolved quickly and professionally. I test the system regularly and they call immediately. Best value for your dollar IMHO.

I,m not to worried about somebody burglarizing my home when I am there since I use the same security system you mentioned when I am at home. The only problem with the Smith & Wesson, Colt, Springfield systems is that they don't work too well remotely or automatically. I'm not really looking to protect my property with an armed guard when I go out. That would be nice though, if I could afford it.

As an addendum: I have seen youtube demonstration videos about the Ultimate Lock withstand 4000lbs of pressure from battering rams used by police. The lock was devised by a police officer to not only keep out bad people, but to also keep out bad people that once lived in your home that still have the key [i.e. former abusive spouses].

The lock is endorsed by Rudy Tomjanovich, former coach of the Houston Sprockets [BOOOOOOOO!!!!!] and former hero of the San Antonio SPURS [while once being the arch nemisis when he played for the above mentioned sprockets and L.A. Fakers] Robert Horry [YAAAAAYYYY!!!!!!!!!].

The Ultimate Lock

Just to piggyback on sadave is you can also install Strike Master's, a metal plate that is as long as your door frame to withstand someone trying to kick down your door. I have 4 installed at my home (one for front door, one for garage, one for patio doors in bedroom, one for patio doors in dining room).
