It's nice over there. Check near DeZavala/I-10, zip code 78249. There are lots of nice homes in that area. Leon Valley is close also--78238.

Over here in Hart Ranch (de Zavala and 10) there are a couple houses for rent, also in Tanglewood right behind us. About a 10 min drive to USAA. Also Apple Creek has smaller houses to rent about 5 min drive from USAA on Huebner

I got an offer at USAA and am planning to move to SA around Sep 15th,2007. I am looking for a studio or 1BR. As I don't have car , I prefer apartments that are in walkable distance to USAA. Looks like Bent tree, park hill, portofino , cinnamon creek are in walkable distance. Are these good? safe? Please let me know more about Portofino as they have availability right away.

Thanks in advance!

You REALLY don't want to rent at Portofino. The apartments are okay, but the people that live there are trash. I've had my car broken into, my windows smashed with rocks, my kids bikes stolen, my BBQ grill stolen (while it was still hot!). Lots of kids from the college partying there and lower income is allowed as well, which would account for all the crime there.
Bent Tree is nice, but small. Cinnamon Creek apts are nice as well. Interesting floor plans and very close to USAA. Hope this helps!

Thumbs up Dove Valley Ranch..

Dove Valley Ranch Apartments and Dominion are too good..

Both are relatively new..
Both are gated and calm
Both have pool and Fitness facility
Nearer to USAA

Take 5 - 7 min walk to USAA

The only advantage of Dove Valley, it has relatively larger area when compared to Dominion for same rental price.

And I live in Dove Valley and work for USAA too..It was comfortable for me to walk to work..I didnt had any problem for last 6 months and renewing my contract again.. Hope this helps..
