Total win!!! Hopefully you keep posting here too.

Just wanted to add that while KB at a time did have very bad standards some years back that they suffered a backlash for it and have since began building better new homes but don't quote me on it since that is just what I remember reading. Others could provide a more definitive opinion.

Not sure where you read those claims, but I've seen their newer offerings, and I can promise you that you would NOT find me in one.

I am not sure either, it could have been a slick press release somehow pawned off as a legitimate news piece, so was not sure, but I don't doubt your judgment.

The in laws have one built in 07. It's standard mass production construction in terms of (lack of) architecture or boxyness. They paid way too much for way too little, KB promised they would build houses only as big or bigger than X square feet, then promptly turned around and started making them smaller, and a couple of houses in the neighborhood needed more rework than I've ever seen on new construction. I'm talking big problems, like second floor joists not correctly attached to load bearing walls and starting to shift big. Another good one is where they forgot to roof a side-facing eve on one of the houses for several months. Guess it took a while for the water to soak in and someone to notice. The in laws weren't one of the lucky winners of those problems, but the overall fit and finish of their place is really poor.

I'd recommend a few but they're all custom builders so... don't know if that would help any; if it would feel free to ask.

SS, DM her w/them - I'm not sure the one I suggested to her will fit her needs, but to me, the more input the better - options are GOOD things!

To the OP: I think Dallas or Houston would be much more "open" about your lifestyle choices (particularly since you are wanting children). However, there are parts of SA that are more "accepting" than others. BN had a good suggestion with King William, but even parts of the suburbs can be well-suited. We live in the NW suburbs, and have a lesbian couple down our street and they have two young adopted boys. They don't get treated any differently than any other neighbor, and are as nice as they can be.

Actually San Antonio is the more gay friendly city when it comes to gay adoptions. San Antonio has the highest percentage of Gay couples raising children in the U.S.
Houston gay couples wanting to adopt favor San Antonio courts.
