The people who have lived in San Antonio (or the immediate suburbs) for 5 years and have yet to visit downtown. A.K.A. some lady I talked to the other day.

Our students do this and it really does make the restrooms smell horrid. Most of them have parents or grandparents from Mexico, but the kids were born in the U.S. So I wonder if the grownups at home are doing it, so the kids do it at school (and likely elsewhere)? In the lower grades, the restrooms are joined with the classroom and there aren't trashcans in them, so the kids have no choice but to flush... but once they are in 3rd and up, the restrooms are in the hallways.

Then quit being a language bully and recognize.

the Spanish Royal Academy's new books on grammar -- which for the first time recognize regional differences -- may be a little tarde.

...

"They've demonstrated that language is dynamic, and that languages always represent the people who speak them," said Harold Smith, an assistant professor of bilingual education and bi-literacy at UTSA.

...

For South Texas, where Spanish is marked by Anglocisms such as ``lonche,'' scholars said the news validates those who feel their Spanish is looked down on, whether it be called Spanglish, Pocho or Tex-Mex.

I have been here 3 years and my ummms are:
Why is the book store full of people phone texting instead of reading or finding a book to purchase?
Why was I asked to leave the "quiet room" of the Cody "Public" Library during regular business hours, for a "private" birthday party for a 6 yr old?
Why was 2 of my cars hit while parked and no one left a note?
Why is this city ranked one of "the fattest" in the country but there are few places to ride your bike or run safely?
Why do people bring young children to Rated-R movies at night and expect the child to sit through the movie without making a sound? Why spend all that money on a home theater?

Just a few...

It annoys me on several levels. First of all, it's not safe for the right hand lane to go straight because it's more difficult to see traffic coming from trophy ridge. Also it feels more natural for the left lane to go straight because you don't need to alter your angle. Has anyone else experienced this? In my opinion, I feel HEB should paint a straight arrow so there is no question as to who can go straight. I wouldn't even mind if it was on the right side but feel it's not as safe and it stops right traffic from exiting while someone is waiting for traffic coming from right to left and no traffic coming from left to right. Am I over thinking this?
I agree. Only the left lane there should go straight. I use it all the time so I can catch the turn around on 1604 to get back home.
