Awww, googie, there is a special place in heaven for you! We had some feral cats living in our backyard when we bought this house, and for some reason, they didn't like our bassets. We were going to have them rescued by the org you mentioned, but they took off. Cute cats, but you couldn't get anywhere near them, of course. I guess they found a new hangout. But seriously, thanks for feeding them. Poor creatures.

Our cat was fixed a long time ago, even though he (?) is strictly an indoor cat. We had him de-clawed at the same time. It cracks me up to see him "sharpen" his front claws. Of course, he probably gets the last laugh when he goes in front of me and then stops (same for going down the stairs)!

my chow does that too.. I don't know if it's a power play on me, she likes to see me almost trip, or she likes getting kicked, but she sure does it a lot.. nothing more annoying than bringing in a bunch of groceries with three small dogs attacking you and a chow moseying down the hallway..

Recycled pets are the best! I got my dog (and my previous dogs) from the local Humane Society and she's been such good company. Half greyhound, half Aussie shepherd -- smart, tons of energy, extremely fast, and very very stubborn!

Which reminds me, does anyone have recommendations for someplace in the SA area that does agility training? I think my dog would love it and be really good at it. If nothing else, maybe it would tire her out some!

Don't know about dog agility training, but I know our Petsmart at 151/410 has dog obedience classes. Maybe the instructor there can point you in the right direction?

Watch the Dog Whisperer too. Think of it as free lessons on how to train YOURSELF.. You'd think it would get boring how they pretty much run the exact same way every episode, but I never get tired of watching the look on the owners face when they find out it's them that has the problem.. that and the look on the owners faces when they see how Cesar can get the dogs to submit pretty much instantly..

I keep threatening my parents that I'm going to turn them in to Cesar if they don't get their D-O-G's under control. Their dogs are so bad.....

Oh, my dog is very well-behaved -- now. Took a lot of work to get her that way, because she spent the first year of her life short-chained to a doghouse and left alone (I hate it so much that people neglect their animals like that!) With love and attention she has turned into such a good dog in just 7 months, and so loveable with everyone including children.
