I have a 12 yr old Diabetic cat who gets insulin injections; she has had it for 6 months and I cannot believe how much she has improved. The cat could not walk before I found out she had DM, I thought she was dying from something, but no idea it was DM! WIthin 3 months at our old vet in CT she was running and jumping again.

Its about time for her 6 month check up and since we have moved, I hate finding new drs for my kids and pets. There are lots to pick from online I can see, but would ike a REAL opinion if possible.

Here is what I am looking for....not a new high tech Dr that wants to try out all his new expesive gizmos and gadgets, I do not want to pay $100 each time I go to the office for a check up.

Also..I want a dr who will listen to ME and my cats needs not just "by the book", the cat is 12, she is old and yes, obese; however, she is doing better than she has in years. I don't want some new Doc making me change something that is obviously working already.

So, basically...a reasonably priced place with a Dr willing to listen and not push unnecessary tests or opinions...I was REALLY lucky to find that first time with our last vet...would love to get lucky the first time here too.

Thanks!

FYI for anyone reading this in the future...I'd stay AWAY from Gentle Care Pet Hospital, in the complex just infront of Lowe's in Schertz...wow, terrible is all I should say....
The assistant was a total rude witch trying to make me feel like a terrible person, didn't even act as though she liked animals, my cat hated her.
The Vet...over the top friendly and bubbly, did admit she was new at this and didn't have much experience with diabetes....well, at least she was honest.
The one good thing, is they did give me the total price of all the tests the assistant suggested they run...it was over $250...we just did tests in June for $500 and the cat is doing EXCELLENT! Why would I want to do more tests!!!!
So frustrating.
Will keep looking for future vet care...still, if anyone new reading this has any suggestions, I"ll keep it in mind.
