Christmas is not canceled! I saw Santa walking on 1604 and the potranco area. He still has his hat and beard. He's wearing shorts due to the heat and really, he looked rather thin. Probably from all the walking.

Sun is finally coming out and it's finally in the 70s, but damn was it cold most of the morning. I was trying on sweaters and long-sleeved shirts at the outlet mall stores today.

and for anyone considering a car.. I hate to support Chrysler for a number of reasons, but I've had a 2011 Challenger this week and have been getting an average of around 29 MPG, which is freaking amazing. It's obviously the 6 cylinder (new Pentastar, not the old crappy engine), but that thing rides really nice and gets amazing mileage for such a huge car. The ride is very quiet and very smooth. It even almost gets rid of all the Michigan bumps, which is impressive for anyone that knows anything about Michigan roads.. Only down side is the view out the rear. It's extremely authentic to the original and your view out the back pays the price for that. You absolutely have to get at least the rear parking sensors and a camera would be a no-brainer if I was to buy one. Pretty glad I let them talk me into spending the extra $150 for the upgrade and it's SO much better looking that the Versa I was originally going to get. That thing is one of the least beautiful cars on Earth...

Those are sweet looking cars. I like the way the Charger looks, too. But, we got one as a rental a few summers back and it drove TERRIBLY for me. It was fine up to 55 but anything over that and the front end shimmied and it felt "unstable" or something. I was disappointed because we were in the market for a new vehicle at that time, and I had been admiring the body style of the Charger, but after that road trip, no way. We ended up with an F-150 4door and it's not the least bit "unstable". Annnnndddd, my 14 year old has room to grow back there. Poor kid was a pretzel in the back seat of my Nissan.

The key is the 2011 (or 2012 when it comes out). There's no way I would get anything older than that, especially a V-6 with the old 3.5 in it. That Pentastar is the key to the mileage and it has serious speed, but it definitely doesn't sound like a Hemi.. I was up to 110+ today without even realizing it and it's butter smooth. 75 feels like a crawl and that's what I normally cruise at on the interstates.

rd2007, I am currently watching on Planet Green (TWC Channel 220, the HD channel 140 is "currently not available") a 3 part Mini-series by General Motors titled "Detroit in Overdrive". I'm sure it will show many times during this month so you should be able to catch it. I think you'd like it.

The Chrysler commercial with Eminem in (sort of) it, makes me happy.

despite my hatred for american cars and their shoddy craftsmanship, you shouldnt base your like/dislike of any car off of a rental car.

im sure you know it, but those cars get royally beat to hell and back. former roomate of mine in austin rented a car for a week while his crappy sebring JXI was getting repaired (for the 6th time). guy had to do donuts everywhere, would yank on the ebrake for no reason other than to do 180s, would speed and slam on the brakes, basically beat the car up more than it needed to be.

f150 is a solid work truck. one has been in my family (at least, it was the last time i saw any of my family about 12 years ago) for a good part of 20+ years and showed no signs of quitting.

if you want to talk about no room in the back, get a celica convertible and try to squeeze someone in the back. i had issues fitting in the front! (im 6'4)
