Just wondering if you guys on that side of town have heard/seen anything that might indicate that the opening of the Panera in Lincoln Heights is soon???

I wouldn't be surprised if it's already open. I work around there, so I'll drive by and check it out this week.

Drove by today! They are taking their time.....no finish out even visible inside.

They need to wait until the construction on BASSE Rd is finished anyway. WHAT the heck happened last week? It was a nightmare and I saw three solid fenderbenders in 15 minutes! Geesh...a little warning would have been nice.

There was zero warning. They didn't even bother to put up DETOUR signs when they blocked off the streets. I always get off the freeway at Sunset and take Treeline Park to Basse. Imagine my surprise when I discover that there was no right turn on to Basse, no alternate routes, and huge trenches in the road. To get to Olmos Park I had to drive down Basse almost to Broadway, cut behind the Walgreens, then take Tuxedo til it dead ended back at Basse next to Clear Channel. It was ridiculous.

It's mostly fixed, though. There are some places where they haven't finished surfacing the street, but it's open both ways provided you watch out for the lunatics who go 45 mph only to slam on the brakes when they get to a rough patch.

I got caught in it on day one! The Basse Rd traffic going from the Quarry to Broadway was at a stand still. And you know how there are not many escapes going NE along there. It was a awful....not just from the construction but the three minor accidents. It looks like they just have the repaving left and that usually goes by quickly!....hopefully
